Day 1: Portland, Maine Roadside

This inspiration for this piece came from walking down the snowy sidewalks of Maine. Prior to this I had lived in Portland, Oregon with rain in the winters. I loved the concept that the walking sign wasn't possible in some of these snow drifts.

Join visiting fiber artist Tyler Sanville from Washington, D.C., for an Introduction to Punch Needle Workshop at Weft & Willow Fiber Art Studio in Chico, CA.
Discover the North American art form of Punch Needle, a craft rooted in 19th-century rug hooking. This technique involves using a special tool to punch loops of colorful yarn into woven cloth, creating a beautiful piece of wall art. The beginner-friendly workshop will teach you the skills and techniques to make your own unique artwork. Choose from a selection of yarn and pre-designed patterns to create your finished piece. No prior experience is required.
Your ticket includes the use of the following materials for the workshop:
- 5-inch embroidery hoop and 100% cotton monks cloth
- Lavor adjustable 4mm punch needle
- Selection of yarn and pre-designed patterns
